Which PDFs can be converted to Word
PDFs with selectable text (created from a program) convert well: the tool extracts the text paragraph by paragraph and places it in an editable Word document.
Scanned PDFs are images and contain no text. Those need optical character recognition (OCR), which this tool does not do.

Is the layout kept?
The text is recovered with its paragraphs, headings and page breaks. Images, tables and complex layouts aren't reproduced: it's designed so you can edit the content.
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
No. A scanned PDF is an image and contains no text. You'd need a program with text recognition (OCR).
Are my documents sent to a server?
No. The whole process happens in your browser.
